Blamey Alegría Chemistry Degree from the University of Chile. Most of my initial work has been on speciation of heavy metals and quantification of different contaminated areas. Actually my work is related with growth of microorganisms under anaerobic and microaerophilic conditions and the characterization in different extreme environments. I also study the relation of the environment with the specific metabolic characteristics of the extremophiles that inhabit them. I support on chemical aspects relatives to the dynamic and behaviour of species in differents environments. Actually, I am working on a project related with growth and characterization of psycrophiles, and hyperthermophiles from Antarctic and the determination of superoxide dismutase activity in this kind of samples. |
